    Overview

    Look out to sea from our campsite on this Somerset hillside.


    Our Minehead Club campsite lies within the stunning Exmoor National Park, close to the beaches of the Exmoor Heritage Coast and a mile-and-a-half from Minehead, Somerset’s largest seaside resort.

    Not only does this campsite enjoy a prime coastal location in a peaceful setting, its views over-looking the Bristol channel, woodland and the town are second to none. A spacious site, Minehead has 50 pitches including some serviced pitches and good central site facilities.


    There are lovely walks from the site including a wooded walk into Minehead centre. Minehead is also the starting point for the South West Coast Path, a long-distance trail that follows the coast to Poole. The town is also the terminus of the West Somerset Steam Railway, which travels through 20 miles of stunning coastal and countryside scenery.


    South of the campsite, Wimbleball Reservoir offers sailing, canoeing and wind surfing – launch your own craft or hire from the lake’s activity centre. Anglers have been known to catch rainbow trout here. You can fish from the banks or hire a boat. There is nine-mile walking and cycling track around the lake too.

    		These are hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, suitable for a standard sized tent, caravan or motorhome.


    		These are jumbo grass pitches with no electric hook-up, suitable for units measuring more than 5m x 9m.


    		These are jumbo grass pitches with electric hook-up, suitable for units measuring more than 5m x 9m.


    		These are super service hard standing pitches with electric hook-up, fresh water and waste drainage, suitable for those looking for a little more luxury whilst they camp.

     

    Access and SatNav Advice

    Although access to the Site from Minehead town centre (as shown on map) is very steep and twisting, we do not advise any other route as alternative lane is too narrow. Please do not use SatNav please follow map directions ONLY.


    Worth Noting

    Our Minehead Club Site is unable to accept caravans. Some pitches are sloping and as a result levelling ramps are required. Club Wi-Fi available, more information. 


    Eat Local

    Stuart Lowen Farm Shop sells local meat, vegetables and dairy products. Minehead’s farmers’ market is held every Friday.

    Local area

    Minehead Beach

    Ideal for a family day at the seaside, Minehead Beach is a golden stretch of sand on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. The beach marks the start of the 630-mile South West Coastal Path and is also a popular spot for windsurfers.

    Dunster Castle

    Towering above the picturesque village below since the Middle Ages, Dunster Castle boasts fascinating history, panoramic views of Exmoor and the Bristol Channel and a mix of unique architectural features.

    Valley of the Rocks

    Running parallel to the to the west coast of Lynton, the Valley of the Rocks is one of Devon’s most dramatic tourist attractions. Noted for its herd of goats, geology and spectacular views, the coastal cliffs are among the highest in Britain.

    Lynton and Lynmouth Cilff Railway

    Opened in 1890, the Lynton and Lynmouth funicular Cliff Railway is the steepest water powered railway in the world. One of Devon’s most famous attractions, the cliff railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth and provides stunning views of the coastline.
