a nice quiet site, good views of the surrounding country side.

a nice quiet site, good views of the surrounding country side. do be carefull when entering the site, best to approach from Inverness, as we approached from Fort August and needed to do a u turn in front of the house before turning right to enter. Angus very kindly rang us the day before and asked which we way we would arrive from. and gave us good instructions as he was away. he was helpful and kindly lent us a local map. we enjoyed our stay and did several walks in the area. the roads are quiet single track in places with passing places and not to much traffic.

The Old Nursery is a secluded CS, off the beaten track, with some wonderful scenery.

The Old Nursery is a secluded CS, off the beaten track, with some wonderful scenery. We used it as a stopover for two nights either side of a week in Inverewe, so four nights total. It had the facilities we needed. Electric, water and waste. You do need your own toilet/washroom. Friendly welcome, brilliant dog walk - best ever! Secluded and peaceful. Scenery fabulous. Single track road in places - but many passing places and not a bother. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hidden gem of a site! The views were stunning and the owner welcoming.

Lovely hidden gem of a site! The views were stunning and the owner welcoming. We had an overnight stay there on our way further north. It's low cost at just 10 a night including the electric. There are no showers or toilets so you do need your own sanitation. Access is through a single track road with plenty of passing places. This is a real retreat if you want to get away from it all. It's not a fancy site but the low cost and gorgeous location more than make up for that. If you're prone to being bitten, make sure you have a hat and plenty of insect repellent. Like a lot of the Highlands areas, this is midge country. I managed to escape unbitten, I'm pleased to say.

Excellent quiet site in a great location for Inverness/Cairngorm/Loch Ness.

Excellent quiet site in a great location for Inverness/Cairngorm/Loch Ness. Very quiet site with 5 hard standing pitches, water, electric (16amp) and 2 chemical disposal points (one for green and one for blue chemicals). The site is around 7 miles from the A9. Mostly single track road with passing places, not a busy road and no awkward hills or corners. On arriving at the site there is quite a tight turn to get into the site, but no problem if you give yourself enough room to turn, otherwise go straight ahead into the camping field, turn around and come back out for an easier turn onto the hard standing area. The pitches are a little overgrown but plenty of room. One of the pitches is large enough for two caravans so we used that to park the car on. Stayed mid-July, during the school holidays for a week and the only other visitor was a motorhome for 2 nights. There is a self service system if the owner is not available, you leave payment in a box on the gate when you depart. Cost is only 10 a night including electric and free wifi (speed is around 2MB download so only good for basic browsing, upload of 150KB). You will not get a mobile or internet signal here as there is a large hill right behind the site blocking all signals, a 5 minute walk down the road towards the river is a good place to go if you need to make phone calls. Take the back road to Inverness and you will find Asda around a 15 minute drive away (10 miles). There is a shop in the village 2 miles away that sells basic supplies. Take the scenic mountain road to Tomatin/A9 rather than going the quick route, some great scenery and the drive to Fort Augustus is good too. There is a hotel/restaurant half a mile away but did not try it. If you are fit enough, you can climb/scramble up the large hill at the back of the site. RSPB site a few miles away and much more to see if you explore the back roads. Will be back, don't know of anywhere else where I can get a week during the summer holidays for 70.
