Overview
Butlers hill fishery camp site is in a peaceful rural setting ideal place to getaway, with lovely sunsets, and dark skies for star gazing, plenty of wildlife including deer, kingfishers, heron, red kite, buzzards and woodpeckers. There are three lakes, Island lake is stocked with common and mirror carp to 13lb approx, roach, bream, perch and chub, Middle lake is stocked with crucian carp, tench, roach and bream, the Far lake has silver fish and is set aside for wildlife. There is a dairy farm 50 metres from the site with a milk vending machine, ice-cream, milk shake and a coffee machine, there is also a farm shop and public house within a mile, also the neolithic Rollright Stone circle with the Whispering Knights and King stone are 1 mile away. The Cotswold Way and the Macmillan Way walks run through nearby.
Nearby is Chipping Norton, with an M&S food hall, Aldi and Co,op supermarket, also a leisure centre, and a lido. Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are within 5 miles also Bourton-on-the-Water, and Blenheim Palace. Oxford and Stratford-upon- Avon are about 20miles away, Burford Wildlife Park, and Adam Henson’s rare breeds farm park are within 15 miles.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
