Overview

Explore the beautiful Peak District National Park from our Bakewell Club Site.

Please note that this campsite has no toilets or showers so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

If you’re looking for peace, quiet and wonderful views, paired with walking and cycling, Bakewell Club Site is for you. Its idyllic location near the pretty village of Youlgreave in the Peak District National Park offers a true back to nature camping experience. Campers report that the site’s minimum facilities are part of its appeal.

Bakewell campsite enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside. The attractive site is excellently maintained and its 100 pitches are spacious, some benefit from the shelter of trees which dot the site. There’s also a small dog walk and a children's play area.

Bakewell town is just five miles from the site – try the pudding (not tart) and then visit Haddon Hall and the National Trust’s Ilam Park and on to Dovedale, an iconic and spectacular gorge carved out by the river Dove.

Outdoor pursuits in the area around the campsite are not in short supply. Climbing, caving, horse riding and, of course, walking and cycling, are all available. Coarse fishing only 1/4 mile from site.

Access and SatNav Advice

Access road is narrow and care is needed.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping and chocks may be required, and access road is narrow so care is needed. Poor TV reception – satellite dish recommended. New entrance is approx. 80 metres before old - there is nowhere to turn around beyond.

Eat Local

There are several Farmers’ Markets in the area. White Peak Farm butchery sells locally-sourced meat including game. The George Hotel serves good home-cooked, locally-sourced food.
