We were a little afraid when we read all the negative reviews regarding the toilets and showers. I was very much put at ease when I saw it for real. Sure it is not the newest but clean it is! And no irritating timer on the shower. The guys here are very friendly. I had booked and paid online. I saw when checking in that I could get better rates with my Camping Key card. The guys looked into it and within 30 minutes I had a refund of 28 pounds! Lovely! Today we cycled to the center, which was very pleasant. The site is very busy, and yes you can here sounds and noises you can exoect whilst camping in a city. We slept like babies. So all in all I can totally recommend the site!

The camp site managers are very helpful and friendly.

This review is for Oxford

The camp site managers are very helpful and friendly. The campsite facilities need demolishing and re building, they are tired and have a weird odour but are kept very clean by the staff. I think people review this site highly mainly as an easy base for Oxford city, but it isnt anywhere near club site standards. There have been numerous reviews about the inadequacy of the facilities but as nothing has been done I don’t expect this review will make a difference but here’s hoping.

Have stayed at this campsite numerous times - within walking distance of the City (if you are feeling energetic) and on the city bus route - Oxford is a most amazing City. Natural history museum is a must along with visits to the various colleges - take your pick. The site is tired and needs investment but the staff more than make up for this as they are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble - they go above and beyond the call of duty. Look forward to seeing you next year.

We stayed four nights at the site, on positive note very handy regular buses into oxford, a return ticket ?3, other full day tickets available. On the negative side, the site is very very tired looks like no money has been spent on the site since our last visit two years ago and it was tired then. At times the noise from trains was unbearable, trains pausing with alarms sounding. As well as that it is very close to an industrial unit with noise coming from delivery vans loading and unloading during the night. Site need more trees to help screen noise from neighbours, the toilet block needs demolished and rebuilt. I have stayed in better cl sites with minimal facilities, this should be better as is supposed to be a club site.
