Located just a mile outside the centre of Oxford, the campsite is the perfect base for exploring the magnificent city of dreaming spires. Camping in Oxford doesn't get any better than this.

Walk, cycle or catch the bus (there’s a stop right outside the site) into the city and you’ll find plenty to see and do. Don’t miss the University Museum of Natural History (the most complete remains of any single dodo are here) and the Pitt Rivers and Ashmolean Museums, the latter has 67 galleries to explore. A guided walking tour is the best way to see the University colleges and botanic Garden. There are themed tours too including an Inspector Morse and a Harry Potter Tour. And a punt on the River Cherwell is a must.

This review is for Oxford

The first thing to say is that the staff of the Oxford site are first class, they are friendly, welcoming and actually engage with you in conversation. This is our third visit over the last decade and nothing has changed in that time in relation to the site itself. I am aware from past visits of there being issues with land ownership and CCC are limited with what they are able to do with the site; if this remains the case then a major rethink needs to take place. In all our visits we have been parked on the roadways, which have camber issues, and levelling of the MH is problematic and can create issues with a modern MH. What follows from parking on the roadway is you do not have a pitch, with other site users having to squeeze by to gain access to other areas of the site, especially when pitches are wet & muddy. When there are several vans parked on the same stretch of road, you hope that they are available to move their vehicle when you leave the site. Looking at the actual pitches none are flat which must make it difficult for those with tents and caravans. The toilet block as you know is outdated and needs refurbishment, its due to the onsite staff's effort that keep this outdated facility clean and maintained. All of my concerns are a problem which must be known by the Club, the standard of this site is very poor compared to other club sites. I feel that this should be reflected in the price or if this effects the operating profit then perhaps the site should be closed, or make it available for tents only. The fact that its close to a City Centre can no longer be the excuse of running this site as conditions now out ways this advantage.

We found on arrival that our water pump had fused and burnt out.

This review is for Oxford

We found on arrival that our water pump had fused and burnt out. Tony the site manager was so helpful and insisted on repairing the equipment once we had bought a replacement pump at Go Outdoors next door! So kind and much appreciated. Really handy site - yes there is some noise as it is located in a big city, but then there is the joy of exploring all that Oxford has to offer. Remember to take your bus pass if you have one and a knapsack for use when trekking about!

Excellent site for a city break - we cannot fault it! The website description is entirely accurate and gives a clear and concise indication of what to expect from the city site. This is our second visit this year and so convenient to access Oxford via the bus service outside the site. The wardens / assistant wardens were so friendly, cheerful and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. We would especially like to highlight the cleanliness of the shower / toilet block so a massive thank you to the staff for a great job done! It was also nice and warm inside the block. We will definitely return to this site to continue our discovery of this wonderful city.

Stayed here as husband having major op. Tony, Karen and staff couldn't have been more helpful as mostly I was on my own and the number of days I was staying was a bit unknown. Taken to pitch by Tony who helped me to park. Lovely walk along river to Oxford, also easy by bus. Site so well looked after and very clean. Thank you team!
