Walk, cycle or catch the bus (there’s a stop right outside the site) into the city and you’ll find plenty to see and do. Don’t miss the University Museum of Natural History (the most complete remains of any single dodo are here) and the Pitt Rivers and Ashmolean Museums, the latter has 67 galleries to explore. A guided walking tour is the best way to see the University colleges and botanic Garden. There are themed tours too including an Inspector Morse and a Harry Potter Tour. We spent 1 night here and had a very warm welcome by Karen and Tony the wardens. The bus stop is right outside the site and was easy to get into the centre of Oxford. The facilities were very good and clean.

Stayed here as we were performing in the Oxford Folk Festival as we wanted to be in the motorhome and not in the Travel Lodge over the road with other members of our team. Access to the site is so easy and staff very friendly. When we told them friends with a large bell tent were arriving later they arranged for them to be able to pitch close by even though this wasn't mentioned in either booking. The pitches were flat and more than adequate for our wants. The site was clean neat and tidy and the grass cut and reseeded in parts it was needed. Other reviews complain about the toilet block and the electrics. We had no problems with the electrics which the web information tells you are only 10 amp. As for the toilet block a place you spend about 20 minutes a day in it was clean, the water red hot and the showers were perfect too. Why people want to complain about them I have no idea. The only improvement I can think of for them is the washing up sinks could do with being a bit higher and the chemical disposal point being fully enclosed to stop the smell affecting the washing up area. The staff were genuinely interested in our Morris dancing style and costume. The information room is full of information including take away menus of local outlets willing to deliver to the site which was extremely useful. We were surpised how quiet the site was and how few children were there. We would not hesitate to return here.

Very well kept site.

This review is for Oxford

Very well kept site. Despite really heavy and incessant rain for a few days the wardens kept the site pristine. We even had a singing warden,(Tony) who was so happy in his work that he sang all day, lovely to hear him. Very helpful and pleasant staff all round. The only let down is, as mentioned before, the shower block which is in dire need of an update. However, the showers were hot and the block kept clean and warm. The position of the site being next to the park and ride, meant that we rarely used our car to get out and about around the Oxford area. Would, and have recommended the site.
