Head south for a 10-15-minute drive from our Moreton Campsite to Dorset's glorious coastline, where you can park up and enjoy the long ribbons of sand and shingle that wind along the historic South Coast. Weymouth, Osmington Mills, Ringstead Bay, Lulworth Cove and the blue flag beach at Swanage are all within easy reach. The famous fossil beaches of Lyme Regis are around an hour's drive away.
Monkey World is a popular attraction in Wareham, home of over 250 rescued and endangered gibbons, chimpanzees and orangutans. Or if castles and romantic ruins are more your thing, head to dramatic Corfe Castle - its spectacular views across Purbeck are not to be missed. This thousand-year-old fortress was partially demolished in 1646 during the English Civil War, and its fallen walls, arrow loops and secret hideaways breathe haunting tales of a long-lost era.
Continuing the battle theme, youngsters and big kids alike will be awed at the Tank Museum in Bovington, which boasts a fantastic collection of monstrous machines - a perfect trip for a rainy afternoon.
