Nearby Crock Point is a rocky peninsula with a cracking viewpoint. Park at Lee Abbey Car Park and follow the circular 2-mile walk around Crock Point, enjoying views across the cove below to Duty Point Tower, before looping back along a quiet wooded trail.

Glamping in North Devon is an Instagrammer’s dream. Step out of your canvas-wrapped haven and soak up the heavenly sight of rolling hillsides and distant sea views. For the most dramatic scenery, pull on your hiking boots and follow the South West Coast Path. Or, hop on your bike and cycle the scenic Tarka Trail, which is traffic-free and great for families (Regional Route 51 passes the site).

Hands down, the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway is the highlight of any glamping trip to Lynton. The two towns sit at opposite ends of a steep cliff and were connected in 1890 by a water-powered funicular Cliff Railway... and it’s still going! Head to the Lynton Top Station and take the rumbling 10-minute ride down to Lynmouth, enjoying gorgeous views of the North Devon Coastline as you go.

Once in historic Lynmouth, visit the Glen Lyn Gorge. It’s a great family attraction with waterfalls and fun hydropower activities for kids. Lovely Watersmeet House is frequently described as a ‘hidden gem’, and with its thundering river gorge, wooded walks and fantastic cafe, it’s easy to see why.
