Pitch in a lovely clearing in the forests of Northumberland in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and European Geopark.

Haltwhistle Club campsite’s setting in a clearing in Bellister Wood makes it the ideal get-away-from-it-all camping destination. The wood, once part of the Bellister Castle Estate, is now managed by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife and you could find yourself sharing your pitch with rabbits and birds, including woodpeckers.

This 45 pitch site between the Northumberland National Park and North Pennines is surrounded by magnificent walking and cycling country. The Haltwhistle Rings – a series of 22 local walks is one way to take in the local scenery along with Hadrian’s Wall, five miles from the campsite, offers picturesque walking opportunities.

Back at Haltwhistle campsite, the adjacent River Tyne provides fishing for those with the appropriate rod licence.

After a day cycling or walking or enjoying some of the area’s many attractions our secluded campsite among the trees is a peaceful oasis to relax and unwind. The modern facilities include showers and toilets, a laundry and washing up area.

Truly a little gem in the geographic centre of the UK.

Truly a little gem in the geographic centre of the UK. Well maintained and level, clean handy for Hadrian's Wall exploring. Nice country pub a moderate walk from the campsite (Wallace Arms) well worth seeking out, but no food.

Me and my wife stayed here for a couple of nights in our tent with electric hook up.

Me and my wife stayed here for a couple of nights in our tent with electric hook up. This was the second time we have stayed at this site. We had booked it again because it was in an excellent location for us, because we do a lot of walking. The first time we didn't really deal with the park managers or staff as someone else checked us in because we were arriving late. This time I found the staff not really that friendly and everything seemed to be a nuisance to them. I went to check us in and was shown to our pitch. We then realised that the electric hook up point was quite far away from where our pitch was and our hook up cable wouldn't reach. I wouldn't of minded this if we had been told before we arrived. The women then said we would have to either buy an extension cable from them or hire one. This I didn't find fair as we were not aware that our electric hook up point was going to be so far away. The toilets and dish washing facilities were excellent and kept very clean. The shop has a few essentials but there are local supermarkets near by. The campsite is very peaceful and a nice place just to relax. We went a few walks during our stay and also visited Haltwhistle.

Beautiful site set in the trees but not under them. River was perfect for my 2 daughters (8&11) to go paddling in. The shower etc facilities were spot on. Kids wanted a shower every day!! Very close to Hadrians wall and a beautiful village of hexham. Definitely recommend coming here
