Tips on visiting children’s farms
- Be prepared to get messy. While visiting children’s farms will surely be a hit with the kids, it can also be a muddy situation for all involved.
- Wear sturdy and comfortable shoes, as some of the petting zoos listed are quite large and require quite a bit of walking. Whether you’re visiting in summer or during the colder months, make sure to dress for the weather.
- Prepare for the weather: If it does end up raining, make sure to take a sturdy umbrella. While farm animals are usually friendly, make sure to keep your little one’s fingers safe!
- If they want to feed the animals, it’s best to remind them to feed them with a flat hand and follow the feeding instructions provided. While some children’s farms allow you to feed the animals, some don’t, and it’s important to follow the rules and look out for any signs that have been put in place. We don’t want to give the animals an upset tummy, do we?
