Our glamping holidays in the Yorkshire Dales are comfortingly snug and homely - and Barnard Castle ticks all the right boxes for a cosy escape. Here you'll find rustic canvas-wrapped retreats with real beds, comfy furnishings and even a dining area. Barnard Castle is a great site for families with its own mini playground and a well-equipped amenities block, complete with a parent and child room, hot showers, toilets and laundry facilities. Oh, and there's a visiting fish and chip van too, which comes highly recommended!

Our Barnard Castle glamping site is nestled within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and perfectly placed to explore the county's wonderful landscapes and well-trodden trails. Barnard Castle itself (known fondly as 'Barney') is a magnificent structure perched high over the River Tees, just a short walk from the campsite. Here you can learn about its founder Bernard de Balliol and take a step back in time to the turbulent 12th century. Wander around the cobbled streets and twisting lanes of Barney, the nearby market town, where you can enjoy its pretty period properties and independent shops.

Our Barnard Castle campsite is located on the northeastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, putting you right on the doorstep of England's beautiful rugged landscapes. Here, you can spend your days blowing the cobwebs away up on the Yorkshire Dales before retreating to your warm comfortable haven with a steaming cuppa and a hearty meal.

In addition to walking and rambling, glamping in the Yorkshire Dales National Park places you within easy reach of outdoor activities like pony trekking and cycling. You've got the attractions of Teesdale on your doorstep too - most of which falls within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Get up close and personal with High Force - England's highest waterfall; visit a French Chateau at Bowes Museum; and explore endless castles and fortresses.

Other local must-see attractions include the spectacular Bolton Castle, the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, and The Dales Countryside Museum.
