After a day pounding the trails, your glamping retreat in Crowden is a welcome home-from-home. Get the barbecue going, pop a stew on the hob or take the short 4-mile drive to Tintwhistle for delicious pub grub at the Bull’s Head. However you spend your evenings, your own private glamping refuge in Crowden comes well-equipped with everything you need for a restful retreat.

Whether you’re a weekend walker or a hardened hiker, you’ll love the local trails around Crowden. You’ve got two long-distance trails right on your doorstep; the Pennine Way and the Longendale Trail, each promising fantastic routes with superb views.

The National Trust’s Marsden Moor Estate is around half an hour’s drive north and offers magnificent walking and exploring across rugged moorland. Enjoy 360 degree views from the impressive rocky outcrop of Pule Hill, soak up dramatic landscapes at Buckstones, and discover the local wool-trading history at Eastergate Bridge.

Glamping in the Peak District may be a rambler’s delight, but there’s so much more to Crowden than long walks and muddy boots. For a grand day out, head to the lavish Chatsworth House & Gardens near Bakewell to explore the magnificent stately home, vast estate and Victorian rock gardens. The kids will love its farmyard and adventure playground, too.

If rain stops play, there are plenty of indoor adventures nearby. Glossop and Ashton-under-Lyme are home to indoor play centres, or why not head into Manchester for the day? Just 40 minutes’ drive from Crowden, Manchester is chock-full of child-friendly museums, heritage attractions, cinemas, theatres, and oodles of cafes and restaurants.
