Overview

A small but beautiful campsite situated on a small, friendly family farm, just above the village of Pitney. The farm shop provides our own organic meat, sausages, bacon and vegetables as well as many other local products. For children there is a small play area, and they are welcome to explore the farm when supervised. Dogs on leads are accepted, especially as there are plenty of local walks with stunning views. Cycle routes are nearby and all year-round swimming at the local school. The nearby pub serves excellent ales and food, and RSPB sites are also close by, including seasonal viewings of murmuration of starlings. There is a wealth of local attractions including Cheddar Caves, Wells Cathedral, Muchelney Pottery, Clarks Village and local National Trust Houses, with the North and South Coasts within an hour. The campsite facilities are electric hook-ups, compost loos, and a campfire area. We now have a cafe on site which produces wonderful meals and snacks using our organic vegetables and meat. Olga who runs the cafe, also, makes wonderful cakes. The cafe is open Wednesday to Saturday from 9 am till 4 pm. Our small, enclosed play area was updated last year.

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
