We have stayed here on several occasions from June-August. This is a very friendly site, having lot's of space for the children to run around and play. Our boy's love to see the horses and play withe the owners dog's. The onsite pub is wonderful, staff are very friendly, food is amazing and beer good too. They also have a pool table to help keep the kids entertained as well as a gated outdoor area with a couple of climbing frames for the kids. The unisex toilet is always very clean, the only downside for us is that they don't have showering facilities. Near to the site is a lovely walk with a big pond and a local children's park. A short drive away is the lovely town of Retford, on Saturday's they have a wonderful market selling lot's of fresh produce like bread, eggs, cakes and lot's more. In Retford you also have some lovely places to eat and drink. The local park in Retford is brilliant for children, it has a water splash area as well as sand pit, climbing frames, toilets and cafe. You are also close to Thymars ice cream parlour, Clumber park, Sherwood Forest and Rufford park just to name a few. I would definetly recommend this site.

This is a nice site for a short getaway.

This is a nice site for a short getaway. It is positioned in a level field accessed from the pub car park. There are 2 electric outlets from one unit, this has adapters on to make a maximum of 5 hookups, although this doesn`t sound ideal I was assured by a regular visitor that the power supply is very good. You need a good length of power lead to be able to position yourself well on the field but the pub owner does have some extensions he can provide. There is one toilet which is at the back of the pub, there is no shower. There are chickens running around and horses in the fields next door. It is very peaceful and there is plenty of walking and cycling around. The pub itself is very nice with pleasant staff and excellent food.

My recent return visit was just as good as last years, however the owner has installed some electric hook-ups and has plans to install more soon. We also managed to explore the area better both on bike and on foot, to our delight we walked a very pleasant route in the nearby Wetlands area. Our bike ride took us on a lengthy circuit finishing in Retford to visit family, the shorter return route was just as pleasant but less difficult. Once again we intend returning next summer.
