Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

Bordering the campsite and visible from site is the River Ure. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities nearby. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a few circular walks from the site, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river from Roecliffe to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the self-catering properties).

Available to buy are stunning holiday caravans and lodges. Visit the Club Holiday Homes website to find out more or call 02477 983801.

Worth Noting

This site floods – restrictions on awnings and availability of pitches. Some all-weather all service pitches are available. Cars must remain on site overnight, please seek advice from the Holiday Site Manager. No boat launching from site. Noise can be heard from the local dairy and from the A1.

Eat Local

Boroughbridge town has a good butcher, a grocer that sells local produce and a farm shop on Ripon Road.

The noise from the dairy was of an intolerable level and made sleep in a tent or awning...

This review is for Boroughbridge

The noise from the dairy was of an intolerable level and made sleep in a tent or awning impossible. I can only assume that the reviewers who claim to have been unaware of the noise must have been in a modern, well sound-insulated caravan. We, a family of 5, were in tent, awning and vintage campervan and found the constant drone of the machinery throughout the night unbearable. If there had only been myself and partner we would have left after the first night, but because we had arranged the stay in order to meet up with the rest of the family and had struggled to find a site midway between our homes in Durham and Leeds for the one available weekend we all had free, we decided to make the best of a bad job. On the positive side, the site is clean, well maintained, has very good facilities for families - the table tennis/television room was great to spend an hour or so when it became too chilly to sit out. The staff were friendly and helpful, even supplying me with earplugs when I asked about the noise. I will not be returning or recommending this site because peace and quiet is one of the main requirements and joys of a camping holiday and unfortunately Boroughbridge site offers none.

This site was nice, previous comments complained about the dairy being noisy.

This site was nice, previous comments complained about the dairy being noisy. We were in the little second field which was good, the dairy noise was in the background all the time, but after a while you just block it out and don't notice it. On a scale I would give it 4 out of 10. We found the site quiet. We did have one concern that the showers have no hand rails, as I have knee replacements these are very helpful, also the shower floors were a little slippery, so a update would be good. The site is within easy reach of many attractions, would highly recommend Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal there was so much to see we went twice, also Knaresborough a lovely town and well worth a visit.

Nice easy walk into Boroughbridge with some small useful shops including Spar, Hardware shop, bakers and butchers. Fish and chip van was good value for money. we would definitely come again, nice easy access but do not arrive too early as very little space before you could end up waiting on the road.

Brilliant and quiet site despite being close to A1. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Boroughbridge is a lovely quiet town but with lots going on. Don’t miss the fish and chip van that calls Tuesdays and Fridays - delicious! Will definitely be staying here again

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
