Overview
Ravens Basket is a quite site nestled in the heart of the Forest of Bowland (AONB). The campsite is enveloped with hills, Fairsnape and Parlick one side, adjacent a mature woodland and hedged along Bleasdale Lane (milk road) with a native mix hedge. Ravens Basket is a secluded site, if you wish to get away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of life. Ravens Basket is the ideal choice/location. It also is a working small holding with livestock securely fenced off. The site is described as ‘New Kid on the block’. The facilities are basic. The sky at night on a good night is a marvel of wonder.
Facilities:
no electric supply, has an elsen waste disposal tank, an event toilet and a basic utility wash hut. The area offers lots of walking, (easy to extreme); cycling; eating establishments in the area; pony trekking; gliding School and historic places to visit.
We aim to make your stay an enjoyable experience and look to establishing a warm and friendly environment.
Ravens Basket is a work in progress. At present the site is restricted to campervans, motor homes (2.5 tonnage weight) and camping.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on some CS sites in Scotland.
