Overview

  • Half an hour train journey to London
  • Surrouded by 14 acres of woodland
  • Nearby Lee Valley Park

The surrounding area

The secluded, woodland setting of our Theobalds Park Club campsite belies its location just inside London’s orbital M25 motorway. Although just off the M25 the campsite is in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. The nearby Lee Valley Park will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. While further west woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds make up the vast expanse of Epping Forest, the largest public open space in the London area.

At just 15 miles from the capital this campsite is an excellent base from which to explore London. Catch a train from Waltham Cross to enjoy the city’s fantastic shopping, varied eateries and bars and landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Olympic Park and more.

I have just joined as a member to camping and Caravaning.

I have just joined as a member to camping and Caravaning. And if all the sites are like this I wont be disappointed. We arrived on Friday to a warm welcome. We were taken to our pitch. I booked this campsite as I was attending a weekend conference at the hotel up the road. On the Sunday evening after the conference I asked what time I had to be off site as I was feeling really tired. He was really friendly and accommodating and said we could stay until 3pm. The campsite was lovely, I will defiantly return

Stayed for 2 nights (Sunday 10th & Monday 11th June 2018) in our motorhome with our 3 year old son. We called the site directly to book. We received a very warm & friendly welcome, even though wed arrived over cleaning/lunch time & were not members of the club. It is clear that the staff all take pride in the site. The campsite is beautiful & the facilities were spotless (including the family shower room). The team even let us pitch up next to the kids play area & allowed us a pull up a picnic bench next to the van to allow us to eat outside! The location is excellent - just off the M25/A10 & a short journey into central London, but is surrounded by trees so you dont feel like youre near the capital! Our toddler loved bunny spotting as there are so many rabbits over the site, the baby ones were adorable! My dad stayed on this site 50 years ago & I stayed 17 years ago - both of us had great memories of the site & were not disappointed when we re-visited this time! Well be back again soon! TIP: Put Theobalds Park Camping & Caravanning into your Satnav rather than Theobalds Park as these are two different locations.
