The surrounding area

Our Hertford Club campsite is on the outskirts of the attractive market town of the same name and surrounded by rolling countryside.

It’s an easy walk into Hertford with its town square and River Lea towpath walk. And Balls Park close by is excellent for dog-walks.

The Cole Green Way, part of the National Cycle Network, is about 1.5 miles from the campsite, starting at Hertford Football Club it follows a former railway to Welwyn Garden City. There are more recreational options at Hartham Common, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre.

For days out there’s Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House and Waltham Abbey or you can take a train to London from Hertford East which is a 20-minute walk from the campsite.

This campsite, although large is spacious with some 245 pitches, offers many quiet and secluded pitches and there are lots of separate areas to choose from. The site is well laid out with well- maintained facilities including washing machine and dryers, inside dish washing area, an outdoor play area and dog walk.

There is a separate tent area with a facility block close at hand. The whole site is plentifully supplied with trees, hedges and shrubs and there is an attractive lake too.

The most friendly and helpful staff we have come across, such a beautiful campsite You feel your in the middle of the country but you are minutes from town life. This is are 3rd stay and we will be back again. Staff are happy to accommodate late arrivals with a phone calls notice, we couldnt ask for better. Campsite is a really good size and campers seem to be organised well with families in an area near a lovely park and field and couples separate. A small shop onsite with those bits you might of forgotten. Def worth a visit.

We regularly stay at this site due to how lovely it is. Often with C&CC, you get great facilities etc, but the welcome is sometimes not the greatest, whereas at this site they are always incredibly friendly, helpful and considerate. Due to its large size, you are never close to other campers/caravanners and it feels very secluded. The showers and toilets are always immaculate, and 2 shower blocks means you never have to wait whilst they are being cleaned. A big Tesco nearby and plenty of walks. A brilliant site!
