Overview
The Purbeck Hills, award winning beaches and a castle make this a popular family site.
Our campsite at Corfe Castle lies at the foot of the Purbeck Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has close proximity to the Blue Flag award-winning Studland Beach with four miles of glorious sand and bustling Swanage with its pretty beach huts. Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coastline are a must!
Our family-friendly campsite offers a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches, some of pitches are under trees. There’s an on-site shop with fresh bread and newspapers delivered daily.
The campsite has an abundance of wildlife including badgers and owls and is near to the Arne RSPB Nature Reserve making this a great spot for lovers of the outdoors.
Nearby Kimmeridge offers a marine reserve and snorkelling whilst Poole Harbour has watersports for the more adventurous!...A leisurely 15 minute walk from site finds you at Corfe Castle, a stunning ruin from the English Civil War whose iconic silhouette can be seen from miles around. The pretty grey stone village of Corfe Castle lies in the shadow of the romantic castle ruins. Around its square is a cluster of tearooms, trinket shops and pubs.
Corfe Castle currently holds an AA 4 Pennant Award.
Access and SatNav Advice
There is no site signage from the The Fox at Corfe Castle direction. From the A351 Wareham direction turn right at the foot of the castle. Drive for ¾ of a mile and turn right at the Corfe Castle C&CC sign. Beware satnav may direct you past the entrance lane. Please use the downloadable map available in the travel information, rather than satnav to ensure you access the site via A351.
Worth Noting
Motorhomes must be booked onto hardstandings. Boat owners please be aware there is an additional pitch fee policy. The site has level hardstandings, levellers may be required for grass pitches. Some pitches are under trees. TV reception can be poor. No cycling allowed on site but bikes can be ridden along the footpath to Corfe Castle which runs directly from site.
Eat Local
Farmers’ Markets in Wareham and Wimborne. The Greyhound, The Castle Inn, the National Trust Tea Rooms and Corfe Castle Model Village serve homemade produce. The site shop sells a good selection of locally-sourced produce.
