The Moseley Folk and Arts Festival will take place in Birmingham, bringing a host of fantastic music, arts, literature and entertainment to the city’s popular ‘creative’ suburb.
There will be performances from the likes of Don McLean, The Zutons, Lucy Rose and Peggy Seeger. There will also be plenty of comedy and stand-up, dance performances, cabaret and literature to indulge in. Head to the beautiful market town of Faversham in Kent for a unique family event that commemorates the days of hop-picking.
The Faversham Hop Festival boasts entertainment including live music, Morris dancers and street performers. There are also special tours of Britain’s oldest brewer, a traditional funfair and a street market filled with locally-produced food and drink. One feature not to be missed is the much-anticipated Hops Blessing parade that streams through the town.

In Manchester this month you can take part in Manchester 100, a bike ride for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Setting off from Wythenshawe Park, there are two routes to take, either a 100-mile or 100km ride.
On the 100 mile ‘Century’ ride, riders will pass through the stunning Delamere Forest and Nantwich, pause for lunch, then continue back up to the park.
Cyclists opting for the ‘easier’ 100km route can enjoy breath-taking views of the Cheshire landscape and afterwards, even have a nice massage. Head over to christies.org for more information.

The 25th Scottish Borders Walking Festival will be kicked off by author and broadcaster Cameron McNeish and take place in Selkirk and the valleys surrounding it. The guided group walks promise varied routes catering to all abilities, coupled with the beautiful countryside of the Scottish borders and chances to engage with local history and culture.

Join Gloucestershire in celebrating love in all its forms this September at the annual Gloucestershire Pride . Taking place at Gloucester Park, the event aims to reflect the diversity of Gloucestershire while recognising and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. Not only that, it will also be commemorating 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising in New York. There will be a variety of different events and activities taking place, including headline performances from Allan Jay, a cabaret stage, a Speaker’s Corner, an art exhibition and a family zone.

13-15 September
Round off the summer festival season with a celebration of fresh, local seafood set against the backdrop of Newquay’s historic harbour.
Now in its 17th year and only growing in popularity, the Newquay Fish Festival showcases practical cooking demonstrations by local chefs with opportunities to sample the very best of Cornish produce; from traditional pasties to local cakes and curries. There will also be a range of entertainment including live bands, songs of praise and performances from Newquay’s Rowing Club Singers.

Hertford Castle will be opening up its castle grounds for a day of entertainment and history, celebrating the castle’s rich past, inspiring designs and beautiful surrounding area. The Heritage Day is chock full of activities and events, including Viking and 15th Century re-enactments, archery, falconry, fire breathing and traditional story-telling. Built by Edward the Elder, the Norman castle remains a Grade-I-listed building, with grand open lawns and situated close to the River Lea.

28-29 September
This month Pembrokeshire will welcome back the Narberth Food Festival. Based on Narberth’s Town Moor, it is Wales’ longest running food-dedicated festival and features a host of masterclasses, workshops, guest chef demonstrations and of course plenty of stalls brimming with the most delicious and unique culinary masterpieces.
In addition to the food, festival-goers can enjoy a slew of entertainment, such as live music, quirky bars and plenty of fun and games for the kids.
