Do I really need caravan insurance?
Caravan insurance is not a legal requirement in the UK; however, many owners do insure their caravan because you never know when the unexpected may happen.
Although the number of thefts of caravans has decreased historically, the number of thefts from caravans is rising. Add to this the possibility of damage caused by a natural hazard, such as hailstones, or simply damage done when detached, then it makes sense to protect your valuable investment.
Remember, caravan insurance covers you for more than just the caravan itself. Club Care’s Caravan Insurance covers your contents and equipment too plus personal injury, public liability, loss of use and accidental damage, theft and fire - so it’s well worth the investment.

Is my caravan covered by my car insurance policy?
No, your caravan isn’t covered but your third party liability is covered whilst the caravan is attached to your car. Let’s explain. It doesn’t cover any damage sustained by your caravan. Also, in the event that your caravan is damaged or stolen when detached from the towing vehicle, there is no cover provided by a car insurance policy.

Do I need to be a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club to get a caravan insurance quote?
No, you do not need to be a member of The Club to get a quotation from our insurance arm Club Care Insurance. However being a member you will receive exclusive policy benefits across our range of insurance products. Also, you will benefit from our wide range of premium discounts as well as be part of any promotions that occur through the year.

I'm a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club based in Northern Ireland and each year I have difficulty finding insurance. Are you able to help?
Yes, we can offer members resident in Northern Ireland insurance cover for their caravan. All policy benefits remain the same.

If I do one of The Camping and Caravanning Club’s manoeuvring courses, will I get a discount on my touring caravan insurance?
Yes you will. If you complete a course, you’ll get a discount of 5% for the entry level course and 10% for the advanced course.

Is my touring caravan covered in Europe?
Depending on the circumstances, it may be possible for Club Care to extend cover. However, there’ll be an additional premium to pay and possibly some restrictions on cover.

How do I make a claim?
You should notify Club Care of your claim as soon as possible. The claims number can also be found in your ‘Evidence of Insurance’ document. You’ll be put through to a friendly claims handler, who will guide you through the process.

What happens if I break down with my caravan?
The Club has an exclusive arrangement with RAC for its members. Arrival Breakdown Cover from the RAC provides breakdown cover for your car, caravan, motorhome or trailer.

Do you insure static caravans?
