A small quite rural site with views, own facilities are a must (I think they plan a small shower block soon) but that suits us. Lots of footpaths both in open country and woodland many of which can be done so that you walk in a circle and don't have to re-trace your steps we did one walk that included 3 pubs and another day we treated ourselves to lunch at the nearby Good Food Guide restaurant, The Whitebrook. Unusually they allowed open fires which was great with fire buckets provided for safety. Great for bird spotting and near by Monmouth was a lovely town with a Waitrose supermarket and many smaller independent shops. Will be going back.

This site is listed as a hideaway and it certainly is that - the views are terrific. Rob & Louise were very helpful making sure we had all we needed, even offering the use of their shower. The site is basic with a toilet and outside washing up facilities. Speaking to Rob he has plans for a small shower/toilet block that would make this a top site. They were both very knowledgeable of the area explaining the local walks which were in easy reach and even lending us a map of the area. The site is on a slope so chocks are essential but as we had the place to ourselves Rob made sure we had a level position with the best views. The local area is very picturesque with walks to local pubs serving great food - we went late in the year and are shut on certain days during the week - good idea to check before going. Great place as a base for the Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons - get the shower in and its definitely 6 stars.

Great basic site with fantastic views and great access to local countryside. Very friendly owners. They sell excellent apple juice and cider produced from their own orchard. Home produced were also great. The location is perfect for walkers with beautiful walks in all directions.

Fantastic small site with limited facilities.

This review is for Highlands

Fantastic small site with limited facilities. Owners are friendly and helpful and make and sell good cider. Care required for larger units. This is a fantastic small site with electric hook up but other facilities are limited. The owners are friendly and helpful. You can buy eggs, apple juice and cider all produced on the small holding. Access is via a short narrow lane there is a slope on the site but it is possible to camp level. The slope can make it difficult for larger units particularly if wet; speak to the owners if this could be an issue for you. The site is located in a rural area on the Welsh site of the River Wye. Nearby you will find large open access forested areas ideal for walking dogs on or off the lead. There is limited to no mobile phone signal on site. Use the post code to get to the site. I put the longitude and latitude in my GPS and missed the access road. If you want to stay in a beautiful area and like limited facilities this is the place for you.
