And of course, when we say ‘rustic retreat’, we’re not talking wild camping or survival tactics. Start your outdoor adventure with a ready-prepped safari-style tent, mod cons and creature comforts. Think real beds, lounge furniture, separate rooms and your own mini kitchen. So wherever the day takes you, there’s a comfy sofa and a hot chocolate to welcome you home.

Surrounded by wooded hills and gorgeous wide open spaces, glamping in Clent Hills is a real rural haven. Explore hundreds of acres of woodland and heathland at the local National Trust Clent Hills estate, with its criss-crossing trails and stunning views over the Cotswolds and Shropshire Hills. For more great views, head over to Lickey Hills Country Park and walk up Beacon Hill to the Toposcope Fort (bring a kite!) The Park is also home to a children’s playground and Visitor Centre.

The West Midlands is a happy hunting ground of stately homes, huge parks and heritage attractions. Whether you’re here to drain the kids’ energy or recharge your own batteries, glamping in Clent Hills is just the ticket.

At Clent Hills, you really do get the best of both worlds. Surrounded by natural beauty yet just a short drive from bustling Birmingham, it’s the perfect in-between location. Head into the city for the day and indulge in a little retail therapy; the Bull Ring alone is home to over 160 shops. Indulge in snazzy Selfridges and put the ‘glam’ in camping with a well-deserved cocktail.

If you’ve got the kids in tow, dive into Birmingham’s Sea Life Centre or head outside the city to West Midlands Safari Park, Cadbury World, or the excellent Black Country Living Museum.
