Heart of the countryside
This spacious site has 245 pitches, many of which are quiet and secluded thanks to the thoughtful layout. There are also washing machines, a dishwashing area, an outdoor play area and good dog walking around. Walking and cycling in the area are excellent – there’s a pleasant tow path along the River Lea, while Panshanger Park to the west of Hertford is home to woodland, lakes, and varied wildlife.
A welcoming town
In Hertford itself, you can witness the splendour of its 15th-century castle, while Hertford Museum tells the tale of the local area throughout history. The town is home to many cosy and welcoming pubs. You can catch trains here to central London if the mood takes you. A short drive away, Welwyn Garden City offers great shopping and pretty green spaces to lose yourself on a peaceful afternoon stroll. A little further afield is the impressive Tudor home of Knebworth House, just outside Stevenage.
