Ben Lomond is one of the most popular Munros in the region with magnificent views over the loch, hillsides and woodlands below.

If you have sturdy walking boots, pick a good clear day and start your summit challenge at Rowardennan Car Park.

From here, pick up walking maps and information from the Visitor Centre and make your way towards the 3,193 ft summit. There’s a clearly marked path from the back of the building, which is generally well-trodden although it can be rocky in places.

There are many different ways to access the trails; for instance, you can take a ferry trip to Rowardennan across the loch from Tarbet and join other walkers on the Ptarmigan Ridge or the Tourist Route.
