The best half-term and Halloween-themed camping
Wondering how to keep your kids entertained during October's half-term break? Take a look at our pick of camping breaks specially geared up to keep your little monsters happy when school's out.
You won't have to look too much further than our very own Club Site network for things to do over half-term. Here's a taster of what's on offer:
- Celebrate Halloween at Walton on Thames Club Site 25-27 October with a fancy dress competition, pumpkin carving and more. The site is also handy for Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND, all of which have special events planned for Halloween.Find out more.
- Winchcombe Club Site in the heart of the Cotswolds promises a week of spooktacular Halloween-themed events for half-term week, 19-31 October. Campers of all ages are invited to pimp their pumpkins, particiapte in a spooky treasure hunt as well as create the spookiest site pitch. - Half-term, 28 October - 1 November, is the time to get crafty at Blackmore Club Site located at the foot of the Malvern Hills. Bring your creativity and join the site team for some colourful activities and fun games in preparation for a spooktacular Halloween celebration. Find out more here.
- Conkers Club Site in the heart of the National Forest is to host a spooktacular afternoon tea and frightfully fun disco 26 October. In addition to some ghoulish games and crazy colouring campers are invited to dig out their scariet monster costume. Could you be crowned the Conkers Halloween Monster? Click here to find out more.
- Enjoy the week-long Welsh Dragon Festival with a sprinkling of Halloween from our Wyeside Club Site close to the town of Rhayader in Powys. The town hosts the event which includes Dragon Day on 26 October. A whole host of family-friendly events are on offer at the CARAD Rhayader Museum and Gallery, Elan Valley Visitor Centre and the Freedom Leisure Centre. Find out more here.
- Chertsey Club Site invites ghoulish girls and ghastly guys to pitch up and enjoy witching hour on 26 October. The howling good fun includes the Jack-o'-lantern parade, so don't forget your lantern and tea light and some onsite trick or treating. Learn more here.
- Make a date for Bellingham Club Site's annual Hal'owl'een event on 26 October. Don't miss owls, hawks and kestrels from Falconry Days birds of prey on site followed by a pumpkin carving competition and an evening celebration in the site's refurbished indoor faciltiy, Wansbeck House. Join East Worcestershire District Association (DA) for its Halloween Rally at Furlongs Farm, Ripple in Tewkesbury for just £10 per unit night. Enjoy a fancy dress and American supper.
- Edinburgh and East of Scotland DA are hosting a Halloween meet at Scone Club Site 25-27 October. Campers can expect spooky competitions, decorated units and a Saturday evening social.
- Join the Kent Area of the Association of Lightweight Campers for its Halloween meet, 24-27 October, at Painters Farm, Painters Forstal, Faversham. Enjoy a weekend of scary fun and a hot supper.
- The Ribbledales Area of the British Caravanners Club is hosting a Halloween and Bonfire Temporary Holiday Site (THS) at Farmer Parr’s Animal World, Fleetwood in Lancs 24 October-5 November. There will be a Halloween social, fancy dress, pumpkin and best awning display and bonfire and fireworks on 2 November.
