A brilliant little site.

This review is for Golden Grove

A brilliant little site. A friendly and informative welcome, the site is attractive, well-maintained, clean and facilities are a bit quirky - like the cartoon boards in the toilet. All pitches have hook-up and water close by and are clearly demarcated. I fell asleep listening to owls and partridges and woke up to pheasants and blackbirds. Coming in from the A120/A131 junction would be much easier than the cross-country route I took. Will definitely stop again when I am that way.

Great clean site with big pitches We decided to stay here over Easter as I had just had operation and neede to be close to home. What a great find. Lovely clean site, friendly with nice views all around. The pitches are very big and separated with little wicker fence. Very level and all vans face onto little green field which is fenced. Nearby there wasn't really much to do but this was perfect for me as I wasn't up to walking. Unfortunately there isn't even a pub nearby. But with a car we managed to find some nice places but just to sit in th peace and quiet was lovely. Unfortunately no showers but there is a toilet which was all clean. We will certainly return for a weekend just to get away and relax.

Golden Grove is a lovely site, small and friendly.

Golden Grove is a lovely site, small and friendly. Louise makes you very welcome, giving you plenty of information about what to do locally, where to eat, where to walk. The pitches are spacious and overlook a field of Jacob sheep. It's very peaceful. There are picnic tables around the site and even a barbecue. I spent one sunny afternoon sketching and painting whilst sitting at one of the tables. I was joined by another camper - and Louise when she saw us came over to admire our artwork. It really felt as if we were holidaying with family. Excellent site - and we'll be back.

Everything said in the other reviews is accurate.

Everything said in the other reviews is accurate. Louise has provided an excellent set of amenities that other LS sites could learn from. All pitches face south and are well sheltered. There is a small log cabin with some essentials for sale via an "honesty box" and some items to borrow if you are like me and always forget something. This even includes a dinner service!! There is also a small library. The village has a great Tea & Cake shop, The White Hart, which also serves Ales & Wine and light lunches. Although dogs are not allowed inside due to licensing restrictions, they are made most welcome in the garden. Great Saling (pronounced Sayling by the locals) is next to a former WW2 USAAF airfield some of which is still intact and well worth the visit. We loved this site and will make it a regular visit.
