Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

The Meadows is an idyllic hideaway nestled in the Sperrins close to the market village of Gortin. The site has five hard standing pitches each with its own grass area all serviced with water and electric, our tent area is located beside the wet room and toilet, also with electric and water hookup available. On site we have ancient woodland and river walks suitable for evening strolls or a selection of public walking routes around lakes and the forest park close by. The Ulster American Folk Park located within a ten minute drive tells the story of famine and emigration, it takes you on the journey from the thatched cottages of Ulster to the American Frontier . The Central & South Sperrins scenic route passes our entrance, enabling visitors to explore the beautiful landscape the Sperrins has on offer. “We welcome you to enjoy our little slice of paradise”.

You are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome on this site with lots of local information on local attractions and walks. There are two lovely walks directly from the site so ideal for dog walking. Helena the owner is very helpful and caring. The site is in an ideal location for touring the Sperrins and Fermanagh Lakes including Donegal. Not good for tv recption or phone coverage so ideal for the perfect hideaway. Good views, good facilities we will return again. This site is well worth a visit.

Helena was a wonderful host who was very helpful and kept the site spotless. Great spot for a peaceful break. Quiet area with great walks by the river. (Don't forget your wellies) Great scenery and not far from Ulster American Folk Park. The only downside was lack of TV or phone signal, but that can be a plus! We had a great couple of days.

A wonderful experience - on some nights we were the only unit there.

A wonderful experience - on some nights we were the only unit there. Helena keeps the site very tidy and clean. Really friendly - she's also a mine of tourist information. The only amenity missing is a shower, but its not important. There's lots to see and do on day trips around Tyrone, Fermanagh and Londonderry. If you want to see real Ulster, you should put this on your itinerary.
