The Camping and Caravanning Club is the world's oldest and largest Club for all forms of camping and our aim is to help people enjoy the simple pleasures that camping can bring. It's an exciting time to join the organisation and be a part of our continued growth.

We are recruiting for a Modern Workplace Engineer to join our busy Head Office team. The successful candidate will be at the centre of planning, developing, and implementing a modern workplace strategy utilising the M365 platform, Azure and other SaaS tools as required by the Club.

Using knowledge of the M365 platform, you will guide the Club’s decision making and working with the Team to illustrate functionality that might benefit the Club and how this could improve operational challenges within the organisation.  You will also be the champion and subject matter expert when it comes to the use of modern workplace platforms within the workplace, presenting opportunities where new features could be used to great effect.

You will work closely with the business to identify requirements and architect appropriate solutions that are secure and efficient, whilst ensuring adherence to Microsoft best practice.

Daily duties and responsibilities will include:

  • > Architect, deploy and administrate M365 services, adhering to Microsoft best practice and ensuring security is first and foremost in all designs;
  • > Drive adoption of modern workplace tools within the Club, ensuring that we are financially benefitting from the tools where we have decided to invest;
  • > Ensuring the Club are licensing their products appropriately, and suggesting innovative ways where we could drive benefit from our financial investment;
  • > Plan and execute on-premises infrastructure migration to M365 and ensure secure data migration and end user communication;
  • > Highlight areas where we could consolidate current spend on other SaaS products by migrating to use existing functionality within M365 or Azure, providing the gap analysis data required to underpin these decisions.

We are looking for the following in applications:

  • > Significant experience in end-user and server infrastructure utilising M365 and Azure;
  • > Experience of modern workplace technologies: M365, Azure, Windows 10/11, device management, collaboration tools, storage and VDI;
  • > Experience of designing, implementing, and supporting modern workplace solutions within a corporate environment;
  • > Experience of migration on-premises infrastructure to modern workplace alternatives in a safe, secure manner;
  • >Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.

The Camping and Caravanning Club is a fantastic place to work, with a supportive and dedicated team. We've been helping people enjoy the great outdoors for over 120 years and these days, as well as having campsites in fantastic locations we hold our own music festival, Torchlight.

We believe in rewarding our people for their hard work, so we have a great mix of benefits and opportunities, to give you the recognition you deserve:

Benefits include 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme, 10% pension (5% / 5%), 3 x salary life assurance, an employee assistance programme, free staff membership for discounts on our Club sites and with our retail partners. We operate hybrid working, with 2 set days in the office and the option of working from home the remainder of the week.

We are especially keen to encourage expressions of interest from people currently under-represented within the Club, these include but are not limited to those from the LGBT+ community, people with disabilities, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds. We are an equal opportunities employer and actively committed to promoting equality and diversity, and the Club expects all staff, members and volunteers to share this commitment.

We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications.
