Local Area
Follow the coast north of Kessingland to lovely Lowestoft, the most easterly town in England. This traditional seaside resort boasts an award-winning beach, beautiful soft silky sands, family amusements and a flamboyant array of colourful beach huts.
A 20-minute drive south of Kessingland brings you to Southwold - another classic seaside gem with a working lighthouse, an award-winning pier, museum and a busy harbour. Southwold is also the home of Adnams Brewery, where you can take a tour of the brewery to discover how Adnams create their award-winning beers and spirits. You can even make your very own gin!
Beach and beer aside, there's plenty more to see and do within an easy drive of Kessingland campsite. A popular attraction is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens near Great Yarmouth, about an hour's drive from the campsite. Beyond the gorgeous gardens is a wild animal reserve with big cats, pandas and primates. Don't miss the hair-raising treetop walk offering a fantastic birds' eye view of the tiger enclosure below.
