With Derwentwater lake just around the corner, glamping holidays in the Lake District's Walker Park serve up a splash-tastic location for waterbased activities. From sailing and windsurfing to canoeing, kayaking and lake tours, there's plenty of watery fun to be had over at Derwentwater Marina, just along the shoreline. Lovely Keswick is a few minutes' walk away from the campsite with its variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, museums and cultural attractions. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring this pretty Lake District town or opt for a relaxing boat cruise courtesy of 'Keswick Launch', located on the lake shore.

Walking is a popular pastime in this glorious part of the world, and there are plenty of favourite walks in and around the area near Derwentwater campsite. There's a well-trodden trail leading from Keswick up to Mt Skiddaw - a 3,054 ft summit that dominates the northern lakes skyline. Stock up on goodies in Keswick, pack a picnic and enjoy the picturesque trail towards the peak where, naturally, hard efforts are rewarded with spectacular views at the summit.

Nearby, Hope Park is another scenic picnic spot. It's a glorious estate with panoramic views of the surrounding Lake District mountains and rolling hills complete with its own 9-hole golf course, putting green, a Pitch and Putt course, a boules pit and a hilarious 18-hole crazy golf course that's perfect for budding Woods and McIlroys.

On a breezy day, Crow Park is a great spot to fly a kite. It's a large open field just opposite 'Theatre By The Lake' in Keswick and offers a lovely view of the lake and fells. Fitz Park near Keswick Leisure Pool is another recommended kiting spot.
