Edinburgh
Edinburgh Castle had Royal occupants from the 12th Century until 1603 and is the most-visited attraction in Scotland. Situated on Castle Rock, which has been occupied since the Iron Age, the Castle boasts stunning views across Edinburgh and up to the mountain, Arthur’s seat. Edinburgh Castle houses the Scottish regalia, known as the Honours of Scotland, and tells the story of Mary Queen of Scots who gave birth to her son James VI there.
