Climb the mighty ramparts to enjoy views over the Wiltshire plains and imagine the once thriving town of Old Sarum.

Conquer the royal castle which stood high on the motte, stand in the footprint of Salisbury's original cathedral, and discover the Iron Age hill fort where it all began.

Discover over 2,000 years of history and unearth how the Romans, Normans and Saxons have all left their mark on this impressive landscape.

The car park is free of charge and is situated on a slight slope on the outer bailey, approximately 200 metres from the shop and admission point.

There is an on-site picnic area that makes for a lovely spot for a family picnic whilst admiring the view of the tallest spire in England, Salisbury Cathedral.

Dogs are allowed to roam freely on the Outer Bailey and on a lead in the castle. There are dog waste bins and water bowls on-site.
