Exciting year ahead as the Camping and Caravanning Club welcomes new President and unveils fresh new look

Tuesday 13th February 2024

Wildlife cameraman, author and TV presenter Hamza Yassin will be taking on his first official duty after his recent appointment as President of the Camping and Caravanning Club. Hamza will be joining visitors at Birmingham’s NEC on Thursday 15th February at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show to celebrate camping in all its different forms.

Hamza is no stranger to the pastime. He is a regular tent camper who also owns a campervan, and is hugely passionate about the importance of nature and the health and well-being benefits of spending time in the countryside. He’s also a big advocate of children and young people spending time outdoors and learning more about protecting nature.

As well as a new President, the Club has also been working on an evolved identity to align with its purpose of inspiring the camper in everyone and growing their passion for the outdoors. A fresh style for its logo, imagery and website has been unveiled, along with an exciting new-look monthly members magazine featuring more inspiring travel, camping and outdoor content than ever before.

Sabina Voysey, the Club’s Director General, said: “These are exciting times with a new President, who is a great fit for our organisation, and a new look for the Club that’s all about welcoming everyone to the incredible outdoors.”

Sabina added: “As an organisation we’re constantly evolving, and we’ve worked hard to reflect both the spirit of the Club and our history while also making sure we stay relevant and widen our appeal.

While the Club’s look may have changed, the organisation remains committed to constantly improving its systems and sites as part of a multi-million pound investment programme. The newly-acquired campsite, Thornton’s Holt, is having services upgraded and new site team facilities built for when it reopens this season as Nottingham Club Site. Meanwhile, Club Sites at Ravenglass in Cumbria and Moreton in Dorset are also undergoing significant refurbishments including the facility blocks.

The new look will be on display for the first time at the Club’s exhibition stand at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC Birmingham from February 13-18, and on the website – www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk – from Tuesday, February 13. The Club’s magazine, Camping & Caravanning, is being relaunched for its March issue
