1. Tregurrian Club Site on Cornwall’s north coast is ideal for beach lovers and walkers with or without a dog, with 14 beautiful beaches within six miles of the site and easy access to the South West Coast Path.
Less than a mile from site is Watergate Bay beach, a two-mile stretch of golden sands. The bay, flanked by steep cliffs, has a generous shoreline. Its powerful Atlantic swells and crashing breakers make the bay a hit with surfers and watersports enthusiasts.
The ample sands, tiny rockpools and local amenities – including toilets and a beach shop – ensure families are well catered for. It's also a big hit among dog owners because unlike many Cornish beaches which ban dogs between April and September, it’s dog-friendly all year round.
If you're taking the car or motorhome to the beach, there's a public car park adjacent to the seafront (TR8 4AD).
