Watch the birdie on the Bonnie Banks
RSPB Scotland has opened a new visitor hub at its Loch Lomond nature reserve.
RSPB Loch Lomond is home to waders, waterfowl and rare plants including the Loch Lomond dock. Ospreys can often be seen in the summer while pink-footed geese visit in the winter.
A new visitor hub is open at weekends from 10am to 3pm until the end of the season. It offers wildlife information, family activities and refreshments. Guided walks will leave the hub at 11am on Saturdays and Sundays.
Close to Gartocharn at the south-east shore of the loch, RSPB Loch Lomond is one of the best places for wildlife in Scotland, and with its mix of habitats attracts a wide range of creatures.
The site was bought by RSPB Scotland in 2012 in partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority in order to preserve it as a wildlife habitat.
The Club has two sites on Loch Lomond’s shores. Stay at Milarrochy Bay or Luss Club Site for a visit to the new hub.
