Braithwaite Village Club Site in the Lake District was officially opened on 10 June by Club Chairman Phil Henson and Mayor of Allerdale Councillor Allan Daniels.
The event, also attended by the Club’s National Council, the Club’s Senior Leadership Team and special guests from the local area, was the first time since its refurbishment the Club could hold an opening, which was attended by special guests from the local community plus members of the Club’s National Council and leadership team.

The state-of-the-art
campsite, which the Club acquired in 2018, was previously known as Scotgate and first opened to campers as Braithwaite Village Club Site last summer after a major redevelopment. It features nearly 100 pitches, offers cabins, lodges and holiday homes, and boasts facilities such as a warm water dog wash and bike service area. The Club now has seven sites in Cumbria.
Phil Henson said: “We are all immensely proud of Braithwaite Village Club Site, and we know our members are really enjoying it too. It was a delight to officially declare the site open.”

Councillor Daniels added: “I used to do a lot of camping in my younger years, including camping all across Africa, so this campsite is more luxurious than anything I’m used to. I’m sure it will be very popular and attract many more people to this beautiful area. Campers invest in the local pubs, cafés and shops, and are very welcome here. I hope the campsite is a tremendous success.”
