The Club has been running National Camping and Caravanning Week (NCCW) since 2001, when it was launched as part of the Club’s centenary celebrations.
It has since become recognised as a national event within the outdoors sector and in the wider media landscape.
This year, the Club will be kicking off National Camping and Caravanning Week in style, with Platinum Jubilee tea parties taking place at Club Sites across the network on Monday 30 May. Why not start the party early by booking on to a participating campsite the Friday before? Surely, there’s no better way to celebrate Queen, country and the camping life, than by rolling all three into a camping trip to remember?
The NCCW draws to a close on Sunday 5 June and dozens of Club Units across the country have also given the special occasion priority within their summer camping programmes. Throughout the two weekends surrounding the big day, with the special four-day bank holiday weekend kicking off on the Thursday in unusual fashion, they are hosting a range of Club Meets and Temporary Holiday Sites all over the country. Check out the Out & About supplement or app to find out where your nearest Jubilee camping event run by members for members is taking place.
For an extra bit of fun, the Club is challenging campers to take part in some friendly competition and create a special Jubilee afternoon tea with a twist. The twist can be anything, such as a campsite barbecue with a royal theme of coronation quiche or crown-shaped scones. Club Sites taking part will be offering prizes for the best Jubilee afternoon teas. And if you’re not camping on a participating Club Site but want to take part in the competition, send your images to the Club’s official social media channels to be in with a chance of winning a prize.
Another way the Club is honouring the occasion is with its limited-edition Jubilee pennon. We have 500 to give away – to claim one, register your interest here.
The Club will also host a celebratory event at Sandringham Club Site, where VIP guests will help us commemorate the Jubilee – watch out for our report in an upcoming issue, in print and online.
