The Motorhome & Caravan Show, the biggest indoor consumer show of its type, runs from 15-20 October at Birmingham NEC.
To follow yesterday’s snapshot, here are even more new models and innovations that have caught our eye.
Vantage Sky
This XLWB Ducato high top features four travelling seats with Isofix points, a U-shaped rear lounge and five sleeping berths, including an electric drop-down bed.
Thetford Grey Water Fresh
As well as producing cookers and fridges, Thetford is well known for producing toilets and their care products. New at the show is their Grey Water Fresh fluid: you pour it into your grey water tank via the sink or shower drain, add water and it removes nasty grey water smells.
Fly drive escorted tour of China
The Club has launched two exciting new escorted fly drive motorhome tours to China for 2020 and 2021, featured in its all new Worldwide Motorhoming Holidays brochure. Find out more and download the new brochure at www.worldwidemh.co.uk
Kampa
Kampa has launched a range of eco-friendly and pleasantly-scented products and fluids for all things camping and caravanning: from concentrated cleaners for caravan bodywork, awning and tent window cleaner, to toilet cassette and flush chemicals, each bottle comes with a refillable pack to reduce on plastic.
Truma LevelControl App
We’ve already reviewed the Truma LevelControl, the gas level measuring device that simply fits to the base of the gas cylinder in your caravan or motorhome and determines how much gas is left in the cylinder using ultrasound. New, though, is the LevelControl App, which means you can quickly and easily check levels from your phone.
BeauER 3X caravan
Imported and exhibited at the show by RP Motorhomes in Harrogate, this unique caravan expands on site to almost three times its on the road size, thanks to electrically operated hydraulic rams, with each segment becoming a separate room. See our review here.
Knaus Sport & Fun Black edition
This quirky, toy carrying, all-action tourer has been around for many years, but for 2020 it got a revamp with carbon-fibre-look trim. It’s now built on AL-KO’s VARIO X chassis, which is around 30 per cent lighter than the old Sport&Fun chassis, meaning more payload for sporty kit like bikes or canoes.
Sub-£40k vans
If you’ve been following our reports on the new tax regime for motorhomes that came into effect from 1 September 2019, then you’ll be aware that motorhomes fitted with new Euro 6d engines are required to pay Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) of £2,135 year one.
Also, if the list price (published price before any discounts) is over £40,000 then another £320 will need to be paid each year for a further five years. However, there are a number of new campervans at the show priced under £40,000 – we’ve spotted Bilbo’s Space SL, Wellhouse Ford Le Tour and Auto Camper models.
New Bilbo’s prototype
Bilbo’s motorhomes, which has been converting VW campers for more than 40 years, has a prototype Nexa on its stand that features a fixed rear toilet for the first time.
Moto-Trek tourer
This South Yorkshire firm made its name manufacturing horse trailers, then branched out into motorhomes. Now it's producing touring caravans, which are simple in their execution but ideal as base to sleep when eventing for horse enthusiasts.
Isabella air awning
This is the first air awning from Isabella, a company best known for its premium pole awnings. The new Air Cirrus North 400 makes use of all the top quality materials we’ve come to expect from Isabella in a porch awning format, with annexes at either end.
Vango awnings
Vango introduced a couple of new driveaway motorhome awnings for 2020, the Imagra and Tolga, plus motorhome and caravan awnings Motor Motelena and Maldives. Check out the inflatable windbreak too, with modular additional sections.
