Camp in the heart of history at Salisbury Club Site. Located just 10 miles south of Stonehenge, the campsite overlooks Old Sarum, an Iron Age hill fort that features a prehistoric fortress, Norman palace, castle, and cathedral. What more could a history buff ask for?
Time travel
This sloping and spacious site offers quiet countryside views, despite being on the edge of the town of Salisbury. It’s about a mile-and-a-half walk into the town centre, where you’ll find a healthy mix of local restaurants and welcoming pubs. The town’s cathedral is home to the Magna Carta, and the timbered buildings and thriving market may make you feel like you’ve time-travelled back to a bygone age.
Fun for all the family
Of course, proximity to Stonehenge is one of this site’s finest features, however, it’s also close to Avebury Stone Circle, which is equally impressive but often less crowded. For outdoor lovers, Cranborne Chase National Landscape lies to the west, within which Old Wardour Castle is an excellent day trip for all the family.
Want to witness some of England’s most impressive historic sites by day and relax under starry skies at night? Don’t miss your chance to book your pitch today.
