Only stayed for one night to test-drive a new tent, before a longer trip, but we will definitely come back. This is not your usual site, with individual pitches tucked away in woodland between the trees, often levelled of and banked up & fenced making them look a little like golf tees. We've also stayed at Sandringham & Roundhill in the New Forest and with the wooded location were expecting something similar, but this was very different - I imagine you could stay here in mid-season and it would still feel quiet & peaceful. We had a very windy night (other parts of the country were hit by storms), but despite some heavy gusts in the tree canopy, we barely felt the wind at ground level due to the sheltered setting. Not really a site for large or noisy families, or big groups, but that would detract from it's primary appeal - peace and quiet tucked away in the woods in the lee of the South Downs!

We stayed here years ago and to be honest I dont know why we havent come back sooner.

We stayed here years ago and to be honest I dont know why we havent come back sooner. The site is in a beautiful location off the beaten track but very easy to find and get to. The site itself is beautiful and the pitches are scattered and secluded. The facilities are really good and kept very clean. We were very impressed with the site managers, very helpful and friendly and they had arranged a variety of activities for kids to do around the site, which kept our daughter happy. Loads of lovely walks from the site which was brilliant for us and our dogs. We will definitely be back next year. High recommend.
