1. Canterbury

The cathedral city of Canterbury is one of the most visited in the UK. Canterbury’s cobbled streets, timber-framed houses and ancient walls make it clear from the off that it’s teeming with history, heritage and culture. Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey are two of the popular attractions for visitors interested in the city’s long and interesting past. The King’s Mile, nestled beneath the city walls, is where you’ll find unique independent shopping and places to eat. To enjoy the River Stour, Westgate Gardens is a popular choice where you can walk, sit and relax or enjoy a punt on the river. For kids, a few miles out of the city you’ll find Howletts Wild Animal Park, which makes a brilliant day out.

2. Dover

Famous for its chalky cliffs, Dover is home to one of the UK’s major ferry ports and has a plentiful wartime history. Overlooking the English Channel, the White Cliffs of Dover are unmissable while camping on our Folkstone site. Dover Castle is one of Kent’s most popular attractions, sitting proudly atop the iconic cliffs, the 11th century fortress is truly fascinating.

3. Folkestone

The pretty port town of Folkestone has plenty to do including cliff top walks and strolls along the harbour. The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, Folkestone Museum and wonderful surrounding villages and beaches are all worth investigating.

4. Leeds Castle

Ignore the name, Leeds Castle is in Kent. Surrounded by magnificent countryside, Leeds Castle is positioned on a lake, with some calling it the most beautiful castle in the UK.

5. Whitstable

With it’s charming sandy beach, annual oyster festival and brilliant shopping streets, Whitstable is a lovely Kent town to visit.
