Take a seat in the newly-restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and let the steam engine take you through the island’s unspoilt countryside.
Keep an eye out for some of the island’s wildlife, such as the rare red squirrel and the grazing docile deer.
Visit the Train Story Discovery centre before boarding the train at Havenstreet Station. You can then choose to go west towards the Edwardian Wootton Station or eastward towards Ashey and Smallbrook Stations.
Sample one of the daily specials at Havenstreet Station’s Refreshment Rooms, or try the traditional local ice cream at the Ice Cream Parlour. There are also picnic benches available if you’d like to bring a packed lunch.
There are large free car-parks at Havenstreet and Wootton Stations.
Why not bring your dog with you on the steam railway? You can purchase an All-Day Rover ticket and they can enjoy the island’s countryside with you.
