VW California Ocean as a day van

When I was small my friends and I often played games that involving taking an imaginary vehicle to amazing places. We could go anywhere at any time with food and drinks on tap, staying overnight wherever we fancied. In those days I didn’t put a name to this vehicle (though Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine could have fitted the bill), but now I’d say the VW California Ocean comes pretty close.
Today I’m more likely to pop the kettle on to make a decent cup of tea than open a bottle of fizzy pop, but I still love being able to do this whenever or wherever I like.
