No-one was hurt in the blaze but the factory was completely destroyed.

Karsten manufacturers high-quality inflatable-tube tents, distributed in the UK through the Camping Travel Store. Its tents have been consistent winners in our Tent Owner Satisfaction Awards since the Awards began.

James King from Camping Travel Store said: “As you can imagine the Karsten family are devastated, but they are a very resilient family. They have already started working in new offices and work has begun clearing the site ready for a re-build.”

The tent patterns had recently been digitised and were stored off site so the company plans to restart manufacturing on a temporary site as soon materials are available.

Camping Travel Store will be continuing its tent displays over the next few months, though there will be some delay in delivery of products this season. All those who have ordered Karsten tents have already been contacted.

James said: “We would like to thank all our customers and others for their concern. The level of support we have already received from everyone is incredible.”
