Vango grows with new facility and staff increase
Growth is the name of the game for Vango owner AMG Group after the company opened a new distribution centre and recruited 14 new staff members.
AMG, which is headquartered at Port Glasgow, Scotland, has opened a new 113,209 sq ft distribution facility in nearby Renfew to meet the increasing demand for Vango and its other outdoor brands, including F10 Series, Lichfield, Blacks of Greenock, Rossingol, Trangia, Wayfayrer, Anatom and Teko. The brands are distributed to more than 40 countries around the world, so this boost in infrastructure and staff levels will help the company continue to meet this demand and expand further.
Bernie McGowan, the Human Resources and Operations Director of AMG said that the news means AMG “will be able to provide first-class service to all of its customers, domestic and international alike.”
Vango was formed more than 50 years ago when AMG founder Alastair Moodie decided its previous name, McIlwraith and Co, was too difficult for non-English speakers to say, so renamed it Vango – an anagram of Govan, the Glasgow district where it was based.
