Lunar collaborates with Wellhouse Leisure
Leading caravan brand Lunar has announced a new collaboration with campervan converter Wellhouse Leisure to create a new business venture to be known as Lunar Campers Limited.
The arrangement means that Huddersfield-based Wellhouse Leisure will receive investment to help develop new camper models and production of its new Ford Terrier campervan will move to Lunar’s factory in Preston, Lancashire in late 2017, to help increase production capacity.
Wellhouse Leisure’s Managing Director David Elliott, who becomes Sales Director of the new venture Lunar Campers as part of the arrangement, said: “I am extremely excited by this opportunity to work with Lunar and build on the success of our campers. Lunar already has lots of experience building smaller campers so our two companies have great synergy together.”
Wellhouse Leisure’s aforementioned Ford Terrier campervan has been subject to very high demand prior to its official launch at European show The Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, Germany from 26 August to 3 September. This collaboration is aimed at helping Wellhouse meet the demand, work on new models in the future and export to Lunar’s continental dealer network.
Brian Mellor, CEO of Lunar Holdings, explained: “Adding campervans to our range of caravans and motorhomes is an exciting step for Lunar and we really recognise the hard work Wellhouse Leisure has put into developing its Ford Terrier. The design, high quality and value for money of the Wellhouse product is a perfect match for Lunar and we are enjoying working together making plans for a stellar future for Lunar Campers.”
You can see both Wellhouse Leisure and Lunar at the upcoming Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC, Birmingham from 17 to 22 October.
