Club recommends CRiS checks
Adding your caravan to the Central Registration and Identification Scheme (CRiS) is especially important this year as the camping season approaches.
The increased interest in camping means more caravans are on the road, and demand for units is still high, which is driving prices and makes caravans a target for thieves.
Registering your caravan costs £19.'95, which will last the whole time you own the caravan, and it links the VIN CHIP to its identification.
You can also find out whether a caravan you want to purchase has been previously stolen thanks to a CRiS check for £17.95.
Club Technical Manager Ian Hewlett said:
"CRiS is a valuable tool for caravan owners and seekers, and we would recommend making the most of the service. The cost is minimal when you compare it to how much you could lose should the caravan you buy or own come back as a stolen unit."
