New Club Chairman announced
Bob Talbot has succeeded Mel Hill as Club Chairman after being elected by the National Council at its November 2018 meeting.
Bob has volunteered in many roles since joining the Club in 1992, and during a career in the Royal Navy he made time to camp with his family in tents, trailer tents and caravans.
From Devon, Bob has served the Club as Chairman and Vice-Chairman at Section and South West Region level. And as a National Councillor he has served on Club Committees, including the Technical Sub-Committee, Exempted Camping Committee and Management Committee. Bob was elected Club Vice-Chairman in 2017.
Mel Hill - Immediate Past Chairman
He served as Chairman of the Special Events Sub-Committee, Vice Chairman of the 2007 NFOL and Deputy Chief Camp Steward of NFOL 2009.
Bob said: “It’s a great honour to have been elected as Club Chairman and I am looking forward to promoting the Club, its benefits and helping it grow, while meeting members’ wishes.”
Mel now becomes Immediate Past Chairman, while Phil Henson becomes Vice-Chairman.
You can read Bob’s first Chairman’s Pitch on page 8 in January's Camping & Caravanning magazine.
