A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 100 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

This site has a number of great cycle routes nearby. Why not join the Avon Tow Path towards Bradford on Avon, 12 miles away?  Alternatively hire a bike in Bradford on Avon to cycle into Bath to enjoy the spa town and all it has to offer.

Had a lovely welcome when arrived staff so friendly and helpful. Site is lovely, well set out and really well maintained. Good walks from site and a very nice enclosed dog area, not huge but good to be able to let dog off lead. I will definately stay here again

We stayed here in the height of the summer holidays so it was extremely busy but that didnt hamper the excellent service from the wardens or the site being maintained to an extremely high standard. The site is right on the canel path which hosts some wonderful walks and views of the Caen Locks. The local pub thats 5mins walk is dog friendly and food is good. Local buses into to Devizes run frequently and we also took the bus into Bath taking in some stunning scenery. We have recommended this site to my parents and Aunt who will be visiting in October and we will definately be back next year.

If you like a walk just outside the camp you can join the tow path along the canel. We walked along side passed all the locks and watched them working. Then into Devizes town. Brilliant

Fourth or fifth visit to this lovely site which is very well maintained.

Fourth or fifth visit to this lovely site which is very well maintained. Unfortunately on this occasion we didn't receive the friendly welcome that we have experienced in the past. When we were here in May 2018 we booked for August Bank Holiday and asked if we could have pitch 101. We were told (and we completely understood) that it could not be guaranteed but a note would be made on the booking. On arrival at Bank Holiday weekend we asked if we could have pitch 101 and were told 'You have pitch 89'. No explanation as to why and to add insult to injury pitch 101 was free. We're happy enough with pitch 89 but just wonder why we were not given our preferred choice of pitch. I don't like to give negative reviews generally but feel slightly miffed by the way we were treated this time. We will be back because we like the site but if we are treated in this way again I will think twice.
