A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 100 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

This site has a number of great cycle routes nearby. Why not join the Avon Tow Path towards Bradford on Avon, 12 miles away?  Alternatively hire a bike in Bradford on Avon to cycle into Bath to enjoy the spa town and all it has to offer.

This was our first visit to the site & we cant speak highly enough of it. The welcome on arrival instantly made you feel welcome. All the staff were so friendly, helpful & approachable, there when you needed them but not in you face.. The facilities are clean & well organised without the need for written rules & regulations everywhere, it feels like the staff trust that their clients will respect their environment. Theres loads to do in the area, the canal is so interesting, full of wildlife & stunning scenery. Were going back & cant wait.

we had an amazing 3 days. The staff where extremely helpful and friendly. There is a little shop selling a few groceries and ice cream. The facilities where very close to us and very clean. We arrived on a Tuesday on the day the mobile chippy visits which i would highly recommend. The campsite is very close to the canal on our first full day we walked 12 miles along the canal. it is extremely clean and tidy with plenty of benches to watch the barges go by and plenty of pubs if you need a pit stop. On our second day we walked into Devizes along the canal which is only 4 miles away from the campsite the walk is beautiful you have to walk past the Caen hill locks which is a must see. we went to Devizes on Thursday when the local market is on. Devizes is a lovely little town. We had no problems with noise on the campsite but we did visit when the children where a school so i will note we where on a grass pitch with electric which are right by the park so it may not be as peaceful when the kids are off. We will definitely be returning.
