A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 100 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

This site has a number of great cycle routes nearby. Why not join the Avon Tow Path towards Bradford on Avon, 12 miles away?  Alternatively hire a bike in Bradford on Avon to cycle into Bath to enjoy the spa town and all it has to offer.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Greeted by John and Jenny - so friendly and welcoming to ourselves, our son, and slightly later to my parents, upon arrival. Full of useful information and handy hints for our stay at the site and in the local area. A couple of minor issues quickly sorted out without fuss. Very visible but not intrusive presence around the site during our stay, keeping all the facilities clean. John was knowledgeable about different Club sites around the region and certainly is a great ambassador for the Club. Overall the Devizes site is a superb base for exploration around Wiltshire, especially for a quiet relaxing stay with multiple walks around the canals- lots of lovely pubs all with food and serving the local Wadworth Brewery beverages (well worth the tour around the Brewery in Devizes town).

This is a belated review from our visit in November.

This is a belated review from our visit in November. We absolutely love this site as it is in such a fantastic spot and we have visited three times. Our only disappointment with it though is the aged shower and toilet block, it really is well over due for a complete refurb. It was obviously kept clean by the staff but it must be difficult for them. Hopefully the work is in the pipeline?

This was our second 'adventure' into caravaning.

This review is for Devizes

This was our second 'adventure' into caravaning. Staff were friendly and helpful, as were other guests, providing us newbies with helpful tips and advise. Only there 2 nights but had lovely time despite dreadful weather. This site perfect for our 2 dogs with an enclosed dog exercise field, plenty of walks and a dog friendly pub 2 minutes away. What more could we ask for? Will definitely be a regular at this site!

Had a lovely welcome when arrived staff so friendly and helpful. Site is lovely, well set out and really well maintained. Good walks from site and a very nice enclosed dog area, not huge but good to be able to let dog off lead. I will definately stay here again
