Overview
A peaceful and scenic location, looking towards Whitbarrow Scar and the surrounding Lakeland Fells. In close reach of Lake Windermere, with only a 10 minute drive to Fell Foot National Trust Park and Gummers How viewpoint overlooking Lake Windermere and hosting breathtaking 360 degree views of the Lake District.
Ideal area for country walks and cycling, wildlife watching and tranquil relaxation. With little light pollution and dark skies, our site is the perfect location for star gazing.
We have a number of country pubs and hotels within walking or close driving distance; The Masons Arms, The Damson Dene Hotel, The Brown Horse, The Punch Bowl and the Black Labrador to name just a few of our favourites.
20 minute rural drive to the market town of Kendal and just a 15 minute drive to Bowness on Windermere where there are a plethora of local shops, restaurants and boat trips available.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on some CS sites in Scotland.
